Loretta Teresa Henning, 91, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2026 at Dow Rummel Village in Sioux Falls. Visitation begins Thursday, Feb. 19, with the family greeting friends from 5-7 p.m., followed by a scripture service at 7p.m. at Miller Funeral Home, 507 S. Main, Sioux Falls. Mass of Christian burial is planned for 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 20 at St. Joseph’s Cathedral, with burial at St. Michael’s Cemetery, also in Sioux Falls.
Mark A. Nester, 65. of Sioux Falls, died Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2026. Memorial service were held Monday, Feb.2, 2026, at George Boom Funeral Home & On-Site Crematory, Sioux Falls. Interment was at St Michael Catholic Cemetery.
Sherrlyn Kaye Garrow, 78, of Mesa, Ariz., passed away peacefully on Monday, Jan. 26, 2026, with family by her side at Hospice of the Valley.

Leona Gilbert, 75, of Sioux Falls, died Saturday, Jan. 31, 2026, after a courageous 11-year battle with breast cancer. Her memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 5, 2026, at George Boom Funeral Home & On-Site Crematory. Visitation with the family present will take place from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2026, also at the funeral home. Burial will be held at the South Dakota State Veterans Cemetery in Sioux Falls.
Daryl Lee De Groot, 49, of Valley Springs, died Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2026, at his home. A Celebration of Daryl’s Life will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 27 at Trinity Christian Reformed Church of Rock Valley (Iowa) with Rev. Henry Lengkeek officiating. The service can be livestreamed at https://vimeo.com/event/4077519. Burial will follow at Valley View Cemetery of Rock Valley. Visitation with the family present will be held Monday, Jan. 26, from 5-7 p.m. at Trinity CRC. Porter Funeral Home of Rock Valley has been entrusted with funeral arrangements.
Suzanne Marie DeMore (Weeks), 84, of Sioux Falls, died Monday, Jan.19, 2026, surrounded by family at Avera McKennan Hospital. A visitation, with her family present, was held Tuesday, Jan. 27, at George Boom Funeral Home in Sioux Falls
Shirlene Engels, 86, of Sioux Falls, died on Monday, Jan. 12, 2026, at Legends on Lake Lorraine with her family by her side. Interment took place on Jan. 15, 2026, at the SD Veterans Cemetery. A memorial celebration for Shirlene will be held this spring.
