The Brandon Boss Gobblers have hosted Women in the Outdoors at the Gun Club.

Following the Monday morning commute, West Holly Boulevard was closed at the South River Park Avenue intersection. To keep Holly Boulevard open to traffic, a temporary bypass was constructed on the north side of the roadway. Motorists are asked to adhere to the suggested speed limit of 30 mph. The project is expected to wrap up in November.

Standing in one of the new eighth-grade wings constructed over the past year, Jordan Paula and Kim Skibsted are the new administrative team at Brandon Valley Middle School this year. Both the head and associate principals, respectively, transferred from the high school from their previous assignments.

The Brandon Valley Journal traveled across the pond, courtesy of Amanda Ringling, a seventh-grade science teacher at Brandon Valley Middle School. She’s “partially” pictured with the Journal inside the Natural History Museum in London during her grant trip to the UK. Ringling was awarded a 2026 Fund for Teachers Fellowship grant earlier this year. During her time abroad, she studied at the University of Cambridge and explored museums focused on Charles Darwin and the theory of evolution. The experience was designed to help her create more engaging, inclusive lessons that strengthens scientific literacy, and fosters an evidence-based understanding of evolution by natural selection. Brandon’s temporary tree branch drop-off site is now closed. The drop-off site was opened following the aftermath of strong winds that swept through the area on July 25.
