Donald “Don” Multerer, 84
Donald “Don” Howard Multerer, 84, of Brandon, died Thursday, Nov. 5, 2026, at the Good Samaritan Home in Canistota, following recent health issues.
Donald “Don” Howard Multerer was born on March 3, 1942, in Illinois to Anton and Doris Multerer. He quicky earned the nickname “Butch” growing up. He lived in Lombard, Ill., where he went to school and graduated in 1960. Donald went to school at Devry Tech in Chicago for two years for electronics. After graduating college, he went to work for Sencore. While working at Sencore, Herb Bowden took him under his wing and Don flourished. In the mid 90’s, Don went back to school in Sioux Falls to be able to earn more money with Sencore.
Donald married Joyce Miller on Oct. 24, 1964. They moved around a lot in their early years, living in Chicago, California, Georgia, Massachusetts, and Virginia, before settling in Brandon. They welcomed the birth of their son, Michael, on Christmas morning in 1969.
Don and Joyce enjoyed dancing and winning trophies. They also loved to ride their motorcycles. They were members of the Harley owners’ group. Don was an honorary Captain of the group. In Don’s free time, he and Joyce loved to go shopping at J&L Harley Davidson, riding around in his black Corvette and his Harley. They enjoyed going to car shows, spending time with Harley Jo, and eating out at Denny’s and Marlins.
Don loved his son and enjoyed riding dirt bikes and Harley Davidson motorcycles with Michael. Don would go to Michael’s football games and would give him a dollar for every tackle he got while playing defense. Don loved music and concerts as well as going to Mike’s gigs.
Don loved his granddaughters and great grandchildren. He was “Grandpa” to many, even though they weren’t technically his. He went to all of his granddaughter’s dance recitals.
Don will be deeply missed by his son, Michael (Coralee) Multerer, Brandon; granddaughters, Chantelle (Teddy) Lee and Harley Jo Multerer; great grandkids, Jayden, Aliva, Avery, Amaya, and Cillian Kramer; sister, Patty Davis, Richmond, Ind.; and many other family and friends.
