Ashlynn Littleton moved to Brandon from Phoenix in 2021. She’s in her third year of owning Inside Out Construction.

With the recent stormy weather that ripped through the area, some Brandon and Valley Springs residents suffered storm damage.

Several surrounding communities also took the brunt of the storm as wind gusts topped 90 mph in some areas. The extreme winds snapped large trees, knocked down power lines, flattened fences, rearranged outdoor furniture into different neighborhoods, and damaged homes and businesses.

Now a week after the storms have passed, evidence of the damage is still apparent in the area with uprooted trees still visible, piles of branches lining boulevards, and damaged roofs and siding still showing the storm’s damage.

If you were one of those that suffered damages, there’s a good chance you spoke with Ashlynn Littleton, owner of Inside Out Construction. The 23-year-old owner of the exterior home remodeling company is in her third year of owning the business, and she said things have indeed ramped up.

“Business is really good,” she said. “This year I’ve been able to focus more on getting jobs done rather than setting up the business. Everything is going really smoothly.”

Littleton grew up in Arizona where she learned the construction craft from her father. She lived in the Phoenix metro area, but decided to make the move to Brandon in 2021 after urban sprawl gobbled up her “small town life.”

“We wanted to get out of Phoenix and the crime,” she said. “We ended up moving every two-to-three years when the city would catch up to us. We wanted to go somewhere that was a little more insulated from that.”

And so far, it’s proven to be a good move. Inside Out Construction focuses on windows, doors, roofing, siding and gutters.

Littleton is the general contractor on each project, only using subcontracting workers when necessary.

“If you can see from the street, we do it,” she said with a chuckle. “It’s a fun job, and we’re so happy to be in Brandon.”
