SoDak Circuit free esports tourney returns in September with new games, more prizes

South Dakota’s first free, all-ages esports event is back for its third year, bringing even more competition, bigger prizes and exciting new experiences for gamers of all skill levels.

SDN Communications and its 17 member-owner companies will host the 2026 SoDak Circuit on Saturday, Sept. 12, at the Sioux Falls Convention Center.

This year’s tournament features a fresh lineup of competitive titles, including Mario Kart World on the new Nintendo Switch 2, Counter-Strike 2 and Madden NFL 26 giving players new ways to compete and win.

Competitors will battle for cash prizes and awards throughout the day. Tournament brackets will be available across multiple age divisions, while spectators can enjoy live matches displayed on large screens. Free-play stations, vintage arcade and pinball machines as well as interactive gaming experiences will be available for attendees looking to jump into the action.

Information is available on SoDakCircuit.com, where players can create a free Player Profile QR to speed up tournament check-in, follow along tournament brackets and receive event updates.

Esports continues to see rapid growth across South Dakota, with more schools, students and communities embracing competitive gaming. SoDak Circuit provides an opportunity for players, families and fans to connect while celebrating the state’s growing esports community.

For SDN’s member companies, the event also showcases the importance of reliable, high-speed connectivity. Together, SDN operates more than 50,000 miles of fiber-optic network across more than 90% of the state’s geography, providing the infrastructure that powers gaming, education, business and communities throughout the region.

“We are so excited to welcome folks to the third annual SoDak Circuit this September. One request we have answered is creating more ways for people to get involved, including upright arcade games and retro pinball machines as well as an extended RPG room. We continue to grow this event annually based on feedback from our guests. We can’t wait to host familiar faces and brand-new fans again this fall.” said Hannah Boquet, marketing manager.
