Local Board of Equalization Meeting Minutes
March 15, 2021
The City of Valley Springs convened as a Board of Equalization on March 15, 2021 at 6 PM in the Valley Springs City Hall, 401 Broadway Avenue. Board Members present were Mayor Carl Moss and Commissioners Bauske, Helgeson, Schmidt and Staeffler. Also present was Finance Officer Linda Hunnel by teleconference.
Chairman Moss called the meeting to order. There was the following Objection to Real Property Assessment:
Johnson, Kimberly and Melinda
701 Southside Avenue, Valley Springs, SD.
Parcel # 24496
TR 6 SW ¼ 3-101-47 Valley Springs City Unplatted
Recommendation of Minnehaha County Assessor to lower building value of $42,500 to $23,200 due to a ‘good sale.’
Helgeson motioned to accept the County Assessor’s recommendation to lower the building value of Parcel #24496 from $42,500 to $23,200, no change to land at $22,800, due to a ‘good sale’. Schmidt seconded the motion. Motion carried, all voting aye.
Motion by Staeffler, second by Bauske to adjourn as a Board of Equalization at 6:05 PM.

NOTICE OF MUNICIPAL ELECTION
MUNICIPALITY OF VALLEY SPRINGS
A Municipal Election will be held on April 13, 3021 in Valley Springs, South Dakota. If the polls cannot be opened because of bad weather, the election may be postponed one week.
The election polls will be open from seven a.m. to seven p.m. central time.
At the election, the following questions will be voted upon or offices will be filled:

The polling place in each precinct of this municipality is as follows:
Valley Springs American Legion, 615 Broadway Ave., Valley Springs, SD
