Notice of Municipal Election

NOTICE OF MUNICIPAL ELECTION

MUNICIPALITY OF BRANDON

A Municipal Election will be held on Tuesday, June 16, 2020 in Brandon, South Dakota. If the polls cannot be opened because of bad weather, the election may be postponed one week.

The election polls will be open from seven a.m. to seven p.m. central time on the day of the election.

At the election, the following questions will be voted upon or offices will be filled:

For Ward III Voters:

Alderman, Ward III, four-year term

Jack Parliament

TJ Cameron

For City-wide election:

Whether the City’s current ban of 1.4G fireworks should be changed to permit discharge on July 3rd and 4th from 10 am – 11pm.

Furthermore, the following are unopposed:

Ward I, four-year term: Tim Jorgenson

Ward III, two-year term: Vickie David          

The polling place in each ward of this municipality is as follows:

Ward I is located at the Brandon Council Chambers, 308 S. Main Ave.

Ward II is located at the Brandon Fire Station, 401 N. Sioux Blvd.

Ward III is located at the Brandon Municipal Golf Course, 2100 E. Aspen Blvd.

Any voter who needs assistance, pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act, may contact the municipal finance officer at 605-582-6515 before the election for information on polling place accessibility for people with disabilities.
