Gerald Van Voorst, 69, of Sioux Falls, died Thursday, Dec. 21, 2017 at Sanford USD Medical Center in Sioux Falls. Funeral services were held December 27, 2017, at the Netherlands Reformed Congregation of Rock Valley, Ia., with burial at Valley View Cemetery of Rock Valley.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce; children, Tricia (Todd) O’Brien of San Tan Valley, Ariz., Cara Franklin of Coon Rapids, Minn., Gerry Van Voorst of Brandon, and Amy (Scott) O’Brien of Lenexa, Kan.; seven  grandchildren; siblings, Jeanette (John) Van Ginkel, Teunis (Jacqi) Van Voorst, Clarence (Carol) Van Voorst, Henry (Judy) Van Voorst, Cynthia Amick, Mary (Harvey) Driesen, Joann Driesen, and Ruth (Jake) Anker; sisters-in law, Carrie Van Voorst and Shirley Van Voorst; and many nieces and nephews.
