Thomas Albert Powers, 71, of Renner, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Aug. 6, 2022, surrounded by loved ones, at his home. Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 13, 2022, at Renner Lutheran Church, Renner, with a luncheon to follow. Interment will follow at Hills of Rest Memorial Park in Sioux Falls. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 12, 2022, at Renner Lutheran Church.

Thomas was born on Aug. 4, 1951, in Sioux Falls, to Albert and Anita (Carlson) Powers. He grew up on a farm near Trent with his parents and two brothers, Mike and Dave. He attended school in Trent until the school closed and graduated from Flandreau High School. He worked as a truck driver all his life and logged millions of miles.

He was a member of Renner Lutheran Church and the Moose Lodge. He enjoyed karaoke, playing guitar, reading, whitewater rafting, motorcycling, poker runs, and cycling.

He is survived by his daughters, Tracy (Michael) Mazar, Jodie (Kevin) Fabian, and Kelly Felz; grandchildren: Lennon (Ciara) and Erin Fabian, and Dru and Kellen Felz; brother, Mike Powers; and many other relatives and friends who he loved and was very grateful for.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Anita Powers; and brother, David Powers.
