Historical Society used book sale returns
The Brandon Historical Society used book sale will be open 1-6 p.m. Thursday, May 7, 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Friday, May 8, 9 a.m.-noon Saturday, May 9, from 9-12. The sale is located at the society’s storage garage on East Cedar Street.
Current needs at the Brandon Food Pantry
Current needs at the Brandon Food Pantry are pickles, jams/jellies, flour, sugar, powdered sugar, brown sugar, seasonings and spices.
To make appointments for pickups or donations, call 582-7001. The BAFP is open from 3:30-5:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Brandon Farmers Market now open for season
The Brandon Farmers Market is now open weekly for the 2026 season. The Market will be open 9 a.m.-1 p.m. on Saturdays in the parking lot at 1200 E. Birch St.
Other notable dates this season are: Christmas in July, July 18; Apple Fest, Aug. 22; Pumpkin Palooza, Sept. 19; Pet Costume Contest, Oct. 24; and Trunk or Treat, Oct. 31.
Shredding event is May 9 in Brandon
Celebration United Methodist Church, 500 N. Pasque Flower Trail, Brandon, is hosting their annual document shredding event from 10 a.m.-noon Saturday, May 9. There is a suggested donation of $5-10 per box. Staples, paper clips and file folders do not need to be removed.
Camp Invention seeks HS leadership

VS Legion BBQ
fundraiser is May 14
The Valley Springs America Legion will serve its first barbecue fundraiser of the season from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, May 14. Hamburgers, hot dogs, barbecues, calico beans, chips, cole slaw, fruit salad, beverage and desserts will be on the menu.
TOPS open to all
The Brandon chapter of TOPS, “Take Off Pounds Sensibly,” meets at 9 a.m. Mondays at Brandon Lutheran Church, 600 E. Holly Blvd. Participants should park in the east parking lot and use the main entrance, far right door. Once inside, turn right and follow the positive and uplifting conversation.
TOPS is for both men and women, and the group’s purpose is to encourage, motivate and support one another.
