Current needs at the Brandon Food Pantry are pickles, jams/jellies, flour, sugar, powdered sugar, brown sugar, seasonings and spices.
To make appointments for pickups or donations, call 582-7001. The BAFP is open from 3:30-5:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Chamber’s Cha-Ching Raffle wraps up Thursday
The Brandon Valley Area Chamber of Commerce will wrap up their Cha-Ching Raffle with the grand prize drawing for $5,000 in cash. The event is from 5:30-7 p.m. Thursday, April 30 at Bottom’s Up in Corson. There’s still time to purchase raffle tickets, which are available at the Chamber office.
Friday is deadline to register spring rummage sale
The 2026 Brandon Citywide Spring Rummage Sales are set for Thursday-Saturday, May 7-9. Registration is open through Friday, May 1 at brandonrummages.com.
The complete list of sale addresses, items and individual sale times will be available online on Monday, May 4.
Brandon Farmers Market opens Saturday
The Brandon Farmers Market will open for the 2026 season on Saturday, May 2. The Market will be open 9 a.m.-1 p.m. on Saturdays in the parking lot at 1200 E. Birch St.
Other notable dates this season are: Christmas in July, July 18; Apple Fest, Aug. 22; Pumpkin Palooza, Sept. 19; Pet Costume Contest, Oct. 24; and Trunk or Treat, Oct. 31.
Shredding event is May 9 in Brandon
Celebration United Methodist Church, 500 N. Pasque Flower Trail, Brandon, is hosting their annual document shredding event from 10 a.m.-noon Saturday, May 9.
There is a suggested donation of $5-10 per box. Staples, paper clips and file folders do not need to be removed.
Camp Invention seeks HS leadership volunteers

Brandon Historical Society Book Sale is May 7-9
The Brandon Historical Society used book sale will be open 1-6 p.m. Thursday, May 7, 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Friday, May 8, 9 a.m.-noon Saturday, May 9, from 9-12. The sale is located at the society’s storage garage on East Cedar Street.
