Brandon Earth Day Big Sioux River Clean-up is Saturday

Friends of the Big Sioux River in partnership with the city of Brandon has set the annual Earth Day River Clean-up event from 10 a.m.-noon Saturday, April 25. Participants should meet at McHardy Park.

Citywide spring rummage sale registration now open

The 2026 Brandon Citywide Spring Rummage Sales are set for Thursday-Saturday, May 7-9. Registration is open now at brandonrummages.com. Friday, May 1 is the deadline to register.

The complete list of sale addresses, items and individual sale times will be available online on Monday, May 4.

 

Brandon Food Pantry’s April needs

Current needs at the Brandon Food Pantry are Rice-a-Roni, pizza crust mixes, mustard, small boxes of fruit snacks, bottled Ranch dressing, bottled salad dressings and deodorant.

To make appointments for pickups or donations, call 582-7001. The BAFP is open from 3:30-5:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays.

 

BVHS Senior Athletic, Fine Arts banquets 

Brandon Valley High School 2026 senior athletes will be celebrated Monday, April 27 at the annual Senior Athletic Banquet, hosted by the BV Athletic Boosters. The event starts at 6:30 p.m. and will be held in the BVHS Commons.

The BV Fine Arts Boosters have scheduled their banquet for 7 p.m. Sunday, May 3. The event will also be held in the BVHS Commons.

 

Brandon Farmers Market opens May 2

The Brandon Farmers Market will open for the 2026 season on Saturday, May 2. The Market will be open 9 a.m.-1 p.m. on Saturdays in the parking lot at 1200 E. Birch St.

Other notable dates this season are: Christmas in July, July 18; Apple Fest, Aug. 22; Pumpkin Palooza, Sept. 19; Pet Costume Contest, Oct. 24; and Trunk or Treat, Oct. 31.

 

60th Brandon Loyalty Day Parade on horizon

Plans are being finalized for the 60th annual Brandon Loyalty Day Parade, which steps off at 1 p.m. Sunday, May 3. 

Following tradition, parade lineup begins at 11 a.m. in the Brandon Valley High School parking lot. Entries are asked to use the south entrance to the parking lot. There is no entry fee, but donations of non-perishable items for the Brandon Area Food Pantry are requested.
