Spread the Word to End the WordBrandon Valley High School students and staff sign a banner pledging not to use the “R” word March 7 as part of the nationwide Spread the Word to End the Word campaign. BVHS junior Julia Andresen is a peer buddy in the school’s Best Buddies program. “When you sign, you agree not to say the ‘R’ word, because it’s cruel. It hurts everyone, and I think it’s really diminishing of a person,” said Andresen, who helped make a video featuring BVHS Best Buddies’ program. All students watched the video before signing the banner during lunch last Wednesday. Jamie Hult/BV Journal*/
