BV Speaking Lynx Kayden Hoeke and Cal Shaykett will both advance to the National Speech and Debate Tournament this June in Dallas. The duo qualified at the Rushmore District NSDA National Qualifier last weekend. Hoeke qualified in Programmed Oral Interp as well as placing first in Dramatic Interp. Shaykett qualified in Informative Speaking and was also a finalist in Programmed Oral Interp. In addition, Tara Rolph and Grace Heiberger were semifinalists in duo, Izzy Stone and MacKenzie Gundvaldson were semifinalists in Humorous Interp, and Grace Lamberty was a semifinalist in Oratory and is an alternate to Nationals.
