Area students named to UofN-Lincoln spring Deans’ List
More than 6,200 University of Nebraska-Lincoln students have been named to the Deans’ List for the spring semester. Among the area students who achieved Dean’s list status from Brandon are: Jackson Dathe, junior, mechanical engineering; Brady Giles, senior, biological systems engineering; William McCarthy, sophomore, Spanish and accounting; Sadeen Webster, sophomore, forensic science; Garretson – Ethan Winterton, senior, finance; Sioux Falls – Greyson Bortnem, junior, construction management; Sabren Bortnem, marketing; and Aaron Burchill, senior, emerging media arts.
Niessink named to Bemidji State President’s Honor Roll
Emma Niessink, of Brandon, earned President’s Honor Roll status at Bemidji State University for the Spring 2026 semester.
To be eligible for the BSU President’s Honor Roll, students must earn a grade-point average of 4.0 for the semester and be enrolled in at least 12 credits of coursework.
Local students are Mount Marty grads
Mount Marty recently celebrated its 2026 undergraduate and graduate students at commencement for both the Yankton and Watertown campuses.
The ceremonies honored students who graduated in Fall 2025 and Spring 2026 and candidates for August 2026.
Among the local graduates are: Brandon – Tashlynne Badger, Master of Education; Paige Goldade, Master of Science in Nursing; Hanna Mutschelknaus, Doctor of Nurse Anesthesia Practice;
Sioux Falls – Sidney Thue, Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
LATC spring President’s list includes area students
Lake Area Technical College has shared the 2026 spring President’s List. Students who maintained a 4.0 GPA are recognized by asterik (*). They are: Brandon – Brady Braaten*, Kolten Eszlinger*, Joseph Schmidt, Emma Schneekloth*; Valley Springs – Trevor Swenson; and Garretson – Adair Hanisch.
Iowa State University announces spring 2026 Dean’s List
More than 11,200 Iowa State University students have been recognized for outstanding academic achievement by being named to the 2026 spring semester Dean’s List. Students named to the Dean’s List must earn a grade point average of at least 3.50 on a 4.00 scale while carrying a minimum of 12 credit hours of graded course work.
The following local students earned Dean’s List distinction: Brandon – Cora Rakebrandt, Culinary Food Science, B.S. (HHSCI); Garretson – Gabriel Mankowski, Computer Engineering, B.S.; and Renner – Riley Dobbins, Agricultural Systems Technology, B.S.
Tofteland receives degree from NDSU
Nick Tofteland*, of Brandon, was awarded a Bachelor of Science in Architecture degree from North Dakota State University following the spring semester. Tofteland graduated with Cum Laude honors, maintaining a 3.50-3.69 grade point average.
