Splitrock Ladies Bowling League

The Splitrock Ladies bowled on April 7, with the following results: High team game, Rock River Ag., LLC, 856;  

High Team Series, Alliance Communications, 2,426; Individual Game & Series, Jan Fonder, 187 & 477.

Julaine Walker picked up the 9-10 split, and Renee Nelson picked up the 3-10 split.

Brenda Jones bowled a 179, which was 50 pins over her average.

Jan Fonder had one turkey.

O’G announces new head boys’ basketball coach

The O’Gorman Knights will have a new head boys’ basketball coach beginning with the 2026-27 season. On Monday, Dan Jansen was announced as the replacement for longtime coach, Derek Robey. Robey has been at the helm since 2000, guiding the Knights to state titles in 2006, 2007, 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2017.

Jansen, a native of Orange City, Iowa, was the junior varsity coach at O’G last year, but has had success as both a player and coach. He was a two-time NSIC Player of the Year at Augustana, and was the NCAA Division II Player of the Year in 2016. He also played in the Pro Basketball League Belgium and Adriatic Basketball Association.

His prior coaching experience includes stints in South Carolina at Palmetto Christian Academy and Regina Catholic before returning to Sioux Falls.
