The Lady Lynx softball team collected a pair of dominating road victories Sept. 21 over the Mitchell Kernels, while Brandon Valley pitcher Kendra Kuehn tossed her second shutout of the season.
The Lynx defeated Mitchell 8-0 in the nightcap of Thursday’s doubleheader. Kuehn allowed just nine hits and induced a fly out to end the game and preserve the shutout.
She pitched six innings, surrendering zero runs, striking out two and walking zero.
Andrea Cain went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead the Lynx. Mya Bunker and Jackie Bingham were also credited with multiple hits.

Bunker led the Lady Lynx with four hits in BV’s 13-1 victory over the Kernels, including a home run in the first inning. Cain also had multiple hits for the Lynx, and Bunker threw five innings to earn the win.
“We did some really good things defensively and on the bases. Overall, we put a couple of complete games together,” said coach Corey Christensen. “The season is moving in the right direction. We’re looking ahead and always thinking how we can be better tomorrow than we were today.”
The Lynx, now 13-4-1 on the season, host Harrisburg on Monday, Oct. 2 at Aspen Park, followed by SF Washington Oct. 3 at Sherman Park in Sioux Falls. The season culminates with the Oct. 6-7 state tournament in Sioux Falls.
