The Brandon Valley Journal traveled across the pond, courtesy of Amanda Ringling, a seventh-grade science teacher at Brandon Valley Middle School. She’s “partially” pictured with the Journal inside the Natural History Museum in London during her grant trip to the UK. Ringling was awarded a 2026 Fund for Teachers Fellowship grant earlier this year. During her time abroad, she studied at the University of Cambridge and explored museums focused on Charles Darwin and the theory of evolution. The experience was designed to help her create more engaging, inclusive lessons that strengthens scientific literacy, and fosters an evidence-based understanding of evolution by natural selection.
