Jill's Journal: Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

Jill Meier, Journal editor

The first week of August is one of my favorite weeks in the newspaper business. It’s the month that we started publishing the Brandon Valley Journal, and last week, we celebrated the start of our sixth year with our cherished readers over two days.

The door at the Journal office was a revolving one this past Thursday and Friday, and of course, we’re so thankful that each and every one of you who stopped by to renew, to subscribe, to enjoy a piece of cake or just to chat with us.

I have to admit, by the time 5 o’clock Friday rolled around, this ol’ editor was pooped out. But in a good way.

So many of you expressed how much you enjoy the newspaper or how grateful you are that our little corner of paradise has a local news source. Others let us know that after they read their copy of the paper, they share it with a friend, a neighbor or a family member.

And we’re OK with that. We’re happy that folks are reading and sharing and learning about all of the good and exciting things that are happening here.

So, as this issue – our third week in our sixth year of publication – we pledge to continue to keep you informed, whether that be what’s happening at City Hall, in our top-notch schools, on the playing fields, at the park, in our business community, at election time. I think you get the picture.

So, once again, thank you for being part of our world.
