Holly Blvd. bypass open now throughout construction of city’s first roundabout

Following the Monday morning commute, West Holly Boulevard was closed at the South River Park Avenue intersection. To keep Holly Boulevard open to traffic, a temporary bypass was constructed on the north side of the roadway. Motorists are asked to adhere to the suggested speed limit of 30 mph. The project is expected to wrap up in November.
By now, many of you have negotiated the temporary bypass on Holly Boulevard located west of the Big Sioux River Bridge and east of Sioux Valley Energy, more properly referred to as the South River Park Avenue intersection.
The bypass was opened to traffic on Monday, and will continue to be used into November until construction on the city’s very first roundabout is completed.
The two-lane bypass will take drivers to the north side of West Holly Boulevard. Through traffic on the roadway will be maintained using the temporary bypass roadway for the duration of this phase of construction, which consists of underground utility and roadway reconstruction.
Motorists are asked to reduce speeds and follow all construction signage.
The West Holly Boulevard and South River Park Avenue intersection improvements are part of the new River Park Development and align with long-term improvement plans to improve traffic operations and safety along West Holly Boulevard.
