FNB to host Feb. 6 blood drive

First National Bank of Brandon, 101 S. Splitrock Blvd., will host a community blood drive from 8-11 a.m. and 12-2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 6.

To schedule an appointment, visit cbblifeblood.org, select “donate now,” “blood drive calendar,” choose Feb. 6 and click on “First National Bank Brandon” or call Community Blood Bank at (605) 331-3222.

All blood donors will receive a $15 Dairy Queen gift card as a token of appreciation.

“The demand for blood donations remains critically high at Community Blood Bank,” said Ken Versteeg, executive director. “A particularly intense cold and flu season has prevented many regular donors from giving blood, creating shortages that make it difficult to meet hospital needs. Blood requirements are constantly shifting and unpredictable, and maintaining a stable supply requires community volunteers to step forward.”

Eligible donors must be at least 17 years old (or 16 with signed parental consent), weigh at least 110 pounds, and be in good general health. Donors should eat a meal and drink plenty of fluids before their appointment and bring a valid ID.
