Eleanor Louise Popkes (Metzger), 84, of Rock Rapids, Iowa, passed away Monday, July 13, 2026 at Lyon Specialty Care in Rock Rapids.

Funeral services were held Thursday, July 16, 2026, at the Apostolic Christian Church in Lester, Iowa. Burial will follow in the Apostolic Christian Church Cemetery at Lester.

Eleanor is survived by her sons, Greg (Lori) of Rock Rapids, Iowa, Jeff (Tara) of Sioux Falls, John (Karmin) of Rock Rapids, Gary (Laura) of Harrisburg, and Wade (Shelly) of Rock Rapids; 17 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; siblings, Gene (Dolores) Metzger of Rock Rapids, Dale (Chris) Metzger of Silverton, Ore,, Barbara Reutter of Rock Rapids, Bill (Charlotte) Metzger of Rock Rapids, Marvin (Joleen) Metzger of Rock Rapids, Jane (Wayne) Klotzle of Marshallville, Ohio; brothers-in-law, Jim Moser of Beaver Creek, Minn., David (Jill) Peasley of Rock Rapids, Lloyd Massner of Sperry, Iowa, Allen Popkes of Edgewood, N.M.; sisters-in-law, Pearl Jamison of Boulder, Colo., Marvella Anderson of Brandon, and LaDon Bushnell of Naperville, Ill.; step-brother, Donn (Joyce) Moser of Rock Rapids; step-sister, Beth (Gary) Metzger of Larchwood, Iowa; and many nieces and nephews.
