Edwin “Eddie” Powers, 91

Edwin “Eddie” J. Powers, 91, of Sioux Falls, died Saturday, Jan. 31, 2026 at the Sioux Falls Department of Veterans Affairs Hospice Cottages. A memorial service celebrating Eddie’s life was held Saturday Feb. 7 at Renner Lutheran Church in Renner. A private graveside service will be held at the South Dakota Veterans Cemetery in Sioux Falls.

He is survived by his wife, Gaylene Powers; daughters, Brenda (Bob) Sobraske and Kyle (Scott) Anderson; five grandchildren, Jacob Sobraske, Tyler Sobraske, Justin (Courtney) Anderson, Megan (Casey) Finnicum, and Isaac (Abby) Anderson; three great-grandchildren, Luke Finnicum, Ava Finnicum, and Ronan Anderson; and his sister, Arliss Scholten of Sioux Falls, SD.
