The Brandon Planning & Zoning Commission met in regular session at 6:30 p.m. on April 16, 2020 at the Brandon City Council Chambers.
Roll call was taken. Members present were Commissioners Paul Bosch, Brian Heidbrink and Rob Schoeneman. Commissioner Alica Thiele was present via Zoom. Also present were Alderman Chuck Parsons, Building Official Paul Clarke,. City Administrator Bryan Read and City Engineer Tami Jansma. Absent were Commissioners Brookes Noem, Jim Starzl and Mayor Paul Lundberg.
Commissioner Bosch moved Commissioner Heidbrink seconded to approve the agenda. Motion carried.
Commissioner Heidbrink moved Commissioner Schoeneman seconded to approve the consent calendar which contained the following items: a plat of Aspen Harbor Addition Lot 18 Block 2; a plat of Stone Ridge Estates Lots 11, 12 & 13 Block 5 and a plat of Twin Rivers Crossing Addition Lots 4, 5, 9, 12 & 13 Block 2 and Lots 5, 6 & 7 Block 3. Motion carried.
Commissioner Thiele moved Commissioner Bosch seconded to approve the minutes of the April 2, 2020 regular meeting. Motion carried.
A draft of proposed changes to the Sign Ordinance was presented. Patrick Andrews, SECOG, was present for discussion. Discussion held on spacing between signs, maximum square footage of signage allowed per lot.
Building permits for March were presented: #20200031 - #20200047. No action required.
At 6:58 p.m. having no further business, Commissioner Bosch moved Commissioner Heidbrink seconded to adjourn the Planning & Zoning Commission meeting. Motion carried.
At 6:58 p.m. Chairman Parsons called the Board of Adjustment meeting to order.
Roll call was taken. Members present were Commissioners Paul Bosch, Brian Heidbrink, Rob Schoeneman and Alica Thiele. Also present were Alderman Chuck Parsons, Building Official Paul Clarke,. City Administrator Bryan Read and City Engineer Tami Jansma. Absent were Commissioners Brookes Noem, Jim Starzl and Mayor Paul Lundberg.
Commissioner Heidbrink moved Commissioner Bosch seconded to approve the agenda. Motion carried.
A Variance Application for 1224 E. Holly Blvd was presented. This was tabled at the March 5, 2020 and April 2, 2020 Planning & Zoning Commission meetings. Commissioner Bosch moved Commissioner Heidbrink seconded to table further discussion until staff can draft some changes to the current Sign Ordinance. Will be presented at the May 7, 2020 Planning & Zoning Commission meeting. Motion carried.
At 6:59 p.m. having no further business, Commissioner Bosch moved Commissioner Schoeneman seconded to adjourn the Board of Adjustment meeting. Motion carried.
