Chamber launches lunchtime learning
The Brandon Valley Area Chamber of Commerce hosted their first ever “On the Menu: Educational Lunch” June 25 in the Sioux Valley Energy Community Room in Brandon. The luncheon’s featured speaker was Joe Weir, who was recently appointed to serve as Brandon’s chief of police.
Pre-registration is always required and can be found on the chamber’s website, brandonvalleychamber.com, under the “Events Calendar.” The cost is $10 with lunch provided. Weir’s presentation was done Q&A style, according to Brian Wills.
Wills is the chair of the Chamber’s membership committee, who have orchestrated this new luncheon. He says the chamber has done luncheons in the past, but not like this.
“We wanted to do something to provide value for chamber membership,” Wills says, “and provide an array of different speakers with value to not only membership, but the community at large.”
The committee was counting on a big turnout for the inaugural educational lunch. The SVE community room can accommodate 80 people.
“We would love to see the room at Sioux Valley Energy filled to capacity,” Wills says.
