BVSD Early Childhood Developmental Screening set for Jan. 25
Brandon Valley School District will conduct their annual Early Childhood Screening Developmental Screening from 8:30 a.m.-7:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 25, at Brandon Elementary. Screenings are free for all children from birth to age 4 who live in the BVSD. South Dakota School for the Deaf will provide free hearing screenings at this time.

Children who are eligible for kindergarten in the fall of 2018 will be screened March 5-9. Parents/guardians should contact their child’s school office to schedule an appointment.
First of two Legislative Coffees scheduled for Jan. 27
The first of two Legislative Coffees will be held 9-10:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 27, at the Bethany Meadows Community Room.
The second Legislative Coffee is planned for Saturday, Feb. 24, also from 9-10:30 a.m. at Bethany Meadows.
State Legislators from Districts 10 and 25 will update constituents on a variety of issues that will be dealt with in Pierre this session.
The event is organized by the Brandon Valley Area Chamber of Commerce and the organization’ Issues Management Council.
34th annual Ed Polzine Cancer Fund Game Feed on tap for Feb. 3
If you’re a fan of the BV Optimist’s Wild Game Feed, you’ll want to pencil in the Ed Polzine Cancer Fund Wild Game Feed, which is planned for Saturday, Feb. 3 at Three Rivers VFW Post 4726 in Brandon.
Donations of wild game and silent and live auction items are now being accepted.

BV Band Parents plan ‘Taste of New Orleans’ night
Brandon Valley Band Parents will stage “Taste of New Orleans,” a formal evening of food and music from 6-8 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 11 at the Brandon Golf Course. The event includes dinner by O So Good, live music from Chris Borchardt and a 50/50 raffle. Tickets are $50 each.
Proceeds from the event will support the purchase of a semi-trailer and upcoming travel costs to St. Louis.
