Free fitness for seniors at Circuit

Circuit, 1124 E. Holly Blvd., Brandon, is offering free fitness for community seniors (ages 55-plus) from 8:30-9:15 a.m. Monday-Thursday, March 27-30. 

 

March needs at the Brandon Food Pantry

This month’s needs at the Brandon Food Pantry are jelly, jam, mustard, ketchup, brownie and cookie mixes, boxed Jello and pudding, dish detergent, Kleenex.

To make appointments for either pickups or donations, call 582-7001. The BAFP is open from 4-6 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays.

BAFP executive director Linda Weber asks groups that conduct food drives to contact the Pantry prior to dropping off donations.

Used eye glasses and hearing aids for the Brandon Lions Club may also be dropped off at the BAFP.

Storytime planned for Valley Springs Library

Family Storytime is scheduled to be held at the Valley Springs Branch Library at 10 a.m. Friday, March 31. Family Storytime is for children birth to 5 and their caregivers. To learn more, contact Jan, the storyteller, at 582-2390.

 

Toddler, Preschool Storytime resumes at Brandon Library

Toddler Storytime and Preschool Storytime have returned to the Brandon Community Library. Toddler Storytime is held from 10-10:25 a.m. Tuesdays now through May 4. This program is for 2-year-olds and their caregiver.

Preschool Storytime is held from 10-10:30 a.m. Wednesdays starting now through May 10. This program is for ages 3-5.

SVE District 6 meeting is March 23 at BVHS

Sioux Valley Energy will host their annual District 6 meeting on Thursday, March 23 at Brandon Valley High School. A complimentary meal will be served from 5:30-7 p.m., followed by the meeting at 7 p.m. SVE customers who attend will also receive a $25 bill credit, and Mark Rogen is seeking re-election to the SVE Board of Directors.

 

Bethany Meadows Chili Cookoff

The chili cookoff is Saturday, March 25 Bethany Meadows. There will be a variety of soups and chilis to taste test from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. The cost is $7 for adults or free will donation and free for kids under 12.

All proceeds will benefit the local fire departments.
