Brandon Valley’s track and field teams dominated the ESD Conference Meet May 12 in Pierre, with both the boys’ and girls’ teams rallying to take the 2018 titles.
The Lynx boys had a busy week on the courts, coming away with four wins out of five duals. Brandon Valley secured wins over Huron, Madison, Aberdeen Central and Harrisburg, and were swept by frontrunner, Sioux Falls Lincoln.
It was one apiece for No. 1 Sioux Falls Roosevelt and No. 4 Brandon Valley on April 30, as the Rough Riders took game one 11-5 and the hosts collected the 11-8 win in the follow-up.
Brandon Valley pitchers Dylan Kirkeby and Hunter Marso each threw no-hitters, as the Lynx club team routed visiting Rapid City Central 15-0 and 1-0 on Senior Night (May 4).
The Metro Conference Championships is typically the single most challenging day on the Lynx boy’s tennis schedule, and this year was no exception, as the Sioux Falls schools claimed the top four team placings, with Lincoln taking the title.
