randon Lutheran plans Family Fun Fest & BBQ

The public is invited to Brandon Lutheran’s Family Fun Fest & BBQ from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, June 7.

The night offers a bouncy house, bingo, family and kids activities, silent auction, 50/50 raffle. Worship, which includes a VBS program, is at 6:15 p.m. Family Treats ice cream truck will also be onsite for the WELCA fundraising event.

 

Weekly Brandon Farmer’s Market now in full swing

The weekly Brandon Farmer’s Market sets up in the Lippert parking lot (915 N. Splitrock Blvd.) from 9 a.m.-1:30 p.m. every Saturday now through October. Current needs at the Brandon Food Pantry

Current needs at the Brandon Food Pantry are egg noodles, Spam, Dinty Moore Beef Stew, pancake syrup and mix, mustard, ketchup, Suddenly Salads, Rice-a-Roni mixes, bottled juices.

To make appointments for pickups or donations, call 582-7001. The BAFP is open from 4-6 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Used eye glasses and hearing aids for the Brandon Lions Club may also be dropped off at the BAFP.

 

Brandon Library kicks off summer reading program

The 2023 Summer Reading Program “Stronger Together” kicks off at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 3, at the Brandon Community Library. The Butterfly House and Aquarium will present their Ocean in Motion hands-on sea star exhibit sponsored by the Ed Polzine Wild Game Feed Fund; additionally, the library will offer a beach-themed scavenger hunt, play with kinetic sand, make an ocean animal beaded necklace and more!

This event is designed for children ages 4-plus and their caregivers. Crafting activities will be available while supplies last.

June 16 is next Legion BBQ in Valley Springs

Valley Springs American Legion will be serving up its BBQ fundraiser from 5-7 p.m. Friday, June 16. Grilled hot dogs and hamburgers, barbeque sandwiches, calico beans, chips, coleslaw, and drinks are on the menu. A freewill donation will be accepted. All profits will be used for remodeling costs.
