BVSD Early
Childhood Screening
Brandon Valley School District will conduct its annual Early Childhood Developmental Screening from 8:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 26 at Brandon Elementary School.
Screenings are free for all children from birth to age 4 who live in the BVSD. South Dakota School for the Deaf will also be providing free hearing screenings at this time.
Kindergarten screening for any child who is eligible to attend this fall will be held Feb. 27-March 10. Parents/guardians should contact the office of the school their child will attend to schedule an appointment.

January list needs at the Brandon Food Pantry
This month’s needs at the Brandon Food Pantry are saltine crackers, small boxes of PopTarts, bottled juice, Manwich, Knorr Sides (rice, noodles), pizza sauce and mixes, hard taco shells, paper towels and Kleenex.
To make appointments for either pickups or donations, call 582-7001. The BAFP is open from 4-6 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays.
District 2 Legislative Coffee is Jan. 28
The Brandon Valley Area Chamber of Commerce has organized a District 2 Legislative Coffee for 9 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 28 at the Brandon Golf Course. District 2 Legislators Dave Kull and John Sjaarda, both in the House of Representatives, and Steve Kolbeck, State Senate, will be on hand to update constituents on the early happenings of the 2023 Session, and answer questions from the public.

Ed Polzine Wild Game Feed puts out call for donations
The Ed Polzine Wild Game Feed committee is accepting donations of wild game and live and silent auction items for its 2023 wild game feed and auction. The wild game feed – always held the Saturday evening before the Super Bowl – is Saturday, Feb. 11 at the Brandon VFW.
