Supe's On: Kindergarten screening at BV on the horizon

The elementary schools of the Brandon Valley School District are accepting registrations for Kindergarten Screening starting on Jan. 4. A child must be 5 years old on or before Sept. 1, 2023, to be eligible to start Kindergarten for the 2023-24 school year. Please, contact your respective elementary attendance center for more information and to register for Kindergarten Screening. 

Regarding next school year, the draft 2023-24 Academic Calendar is moving through the adoption process and closely corresponds to our current Academic Calendar. Within next year’s proposed Academic Calendar, I would highlight multiple items of interest.

Proposed 2023-24 BVSD Academic Calendar

• Wednesday, Aug. 23, 2023 – First Day of School for Students

• Sunday, May 12, 2024 – Graduation Ceremony

• Thursday, May 24, 2024 – Last Day of School for Students

A presentation providing a detailed overview of the proposed 2023-24 Academic Calendar will be available within the Jan. 9 Brandon Valley Board of Education meeting. The proposed calendar is scheduled for adoption in late January. When the 2023-24 Academic Calendar has been formally adopted, we will communicate the final calendar to families through a variety of platforms, including email, websites, and school building communications. We appreciate all of the individuals and committees that have collaborated and assisted in the development of our calendar.
