The 2021 ACT data was recently released to the public. Our Brandon Valley High School students taking part in the ACT assessment performed extremely well. Our students outperformed the state average in all areas, which are English, mathematics, reading, and science. Overall, the average Brandon Valley composite ACT score is 1.8 points higher than the state average. In addition, the percent of Brandon Valley ACT-tested students ready for college-level coursework in all areas exceeded the state average by 10 percentage points.

Our students’ success on the ACT is a direct result of top-quality teaching in the classroom, active involvement of our parents and community within the educational process, and outstanding building-level leadership within the Brandon Valley School District. We are very proud of our students, staff, and parents for their outstanding efforts.

Lastly, our 2021 Fall State Aid Enrollment count was 4,867 students, an increase of 185 students from the 2020 count. As it is with any strength, there are challenges associated with an increasing student population. Utilizing our Facility Review Committee, a large diverse community group, we have been able to proactively plan for student growth and outline a short- and long-range vision for the future of the Brandon Valley School District. Our newest school facility, Inspiration Elementary, opened this fall, and we are in the process of planning for an addition at Brandon Valley High School. The Brandon Valley High School addition is set to be under construction during the 2022-23 school year and open for the fall of the 2023.

The long-range vision of our school district is outlined in BV VISION 2040 and outlines how Brandon Valley will manage student growth for the next two decades. The Facility Review Committee Report and BV VISION 2040 are available on our district website.

With our growth and the continuation of strong academics – Our Future Is Bright!
