Scholarships for patriotism

Brandon American Legion Post 318 Commander Mark Bannwarth last week presented $250 scholarships to two Brandon Valley High School seniors, a boy and a girl, Miles McDaniels and Grace Heiberger. To be considered for the scholarship, students wrote essays on the qualities they possess as young students. Their essays detailed how they have molded their life after the pillars of courage, honor, leadership, patriotism, scholarship and service. They were also encouraged to include a letter of recommendation and/or one reference document regarding community service hours and duties.
