Club members of Brandon Valley High School’s HOSA – Health Occupation Students of America – took a field trip in December to Sanford Hospital, where they got up close look at the industry.

HOSA is a club made up of students who aspire to become health professionals, and this year’s club numbers is the highest to date.

Students who took part in the Sanford visit were exposed to things like ultrasound technology, anatomage learning devices, and simulated nursing labs. Anatomage tables are virtual cadaver labs, allowing many students to explore the anatomy of humans without the costly and hard-to-obtain cadavers that high schools cannot supply.

BVHS HOSA has plans to take a second group of students to tour Avera Hospital later this year.
