High school seniors encouraged to apply for nomination to U.S. Service Academies

U.S. Senator Mike Rounds (R-S.D.) announced that all nomination applications to the nation’s ser-vice academies for the fall 2022 semester are due by Oct. 1, 2021.

“Each year, I am honored to nominate our nation’s future military leaders to U.S. service acade-mies,” said Rounds. “By attending an academy, not only will students have the opportunity to serve our nation and help lead the best military in the world, but they will receive an excellent education at a top-notch institution. I encourage young South Dakotans looking to answer the call of duty to con-sider applying to one of our military academies.”

Applications for the 2022-23 freshman class (Class of 2026) are due Oct. 1, 2021. Nominations are available for the following institutions: The United States Air Force Academy, United States Military Academy at West Point, United States Naval Academy at Annapolis and United States Merchant Ma-rines Academy.
