The city of Brandon has received millions of federal dollars for infrastructur projects. Local developers are also benefitting from available federal funding.
John Nedved hopes the metal box he placed around the security camera on the backside of his two-story garden shed has rectified the “invasion of privacy” issue with the neighbors. The photo shows the more limited view the camera now has of the Dean’s backyard.
Induction of the Class of ‘24 into Brandon Valley’s Athletic Hall of Fame took place Saturday evening at the Brandon Golf Course. Parking spots were hard to come by at Brandon Valley’s Districtwide Fine Arts Night last week. The event showcases the artistic talents of K-12 students and offered a big variety of hands-on art projects.
Brandon resident, Pam Kessler, brought her hometown newspaper, the Brandon Valley Journal, with her to California’s Monache High School, where she was recently inducted to the MHS Hall of Fame.
Brandon Valley grad Lake Terveer is a senior at Mount Marty University in Yankton. He hit his first career collegiate home run in the Lancers’ season opener on Feb. 9.
Brandon Valley sophomore Bella Rief won the local division of the Optimist Club’s Oratorical compeitition. At Saturday’s Zone Contest, Rief punched her ticket to the district compeition, which is April 8. Rief has been competing in this competition since the seventh grade, talking on “How to Change the World with Optimism.”
Jeff Sasker Construction outfitted Jakki Lindsley’s kitchen cabinets with cabinets that lower and rise with the push of a button. Lindsley is wheelchair-bound, and this allows her to cook and wash the dishes once again.
